TabChart Release Notes

Version 2026.9.2

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • •TabChart can now be driven from the keyboard. Jump between Charts, Screener and Alerts, add or reload a chart, toggle focus mode, create an alert, switch tabs, search — all without reaching for the mouse.
  • •A new Keyboard Shortcuts page in Settings lists every shortcut and lets you change any of them, individually or all at once.
  • •The page flags a shortcut that clashes with another action, so it never silently stops working.

Connect an AI Assistant

  • •Settings > AI assistants now opens a Connect dialog instead of a bare toggle. Pick the assistant you use — the ones TabChart finds already installed are listed first — and it's connected in one click.
  • •For assistants TabChart can't safely configure automatically, the dialog gives you the exact steps and a block to paste instead.
  • •What an assistant can do once connected, and what it never can, is on the new MCP server page.

Stability

  • •Fixed a crash that could bring down the whole app when closing a Screener or Quick Charts tab right after another one.
  • •Keyboard focus reliably returns to your chart after closing Settings, a dialog, or switching tabs — previously the first key you pressed could go nowhere.

Polish

  • •The startup screen now shows the animated TabChart logo instead of a plain spinner.
  • •Escape now reliably closes dialogs throughout the app, including ones nested inside another dialog and the Screener and Alerts search boxes, which previously ignored it.

Thank you for using TabChart!
